Adjustment Support
We currently offer consultation via email. Our team is here to assist with key considerations such as seat width, turning radius, doorway widths, transfers, and loading the chair into a car.
What to look for during your trial period
Check whether you or your caregiver can easily lift the wheelchair and place it in the car trunk.
Test the chair in tight spaces, such as hallways and kitchens.
Check the seat width, your posture, and the armrest height.
Practice transfers and navigating thresholds or ramps, and assess how well the wheelchair handles your typical daily routes.
The best way to determine if the Air Ultra is right for you is to consider your height, daily usage habits, and mobility needs.
The Air Ultra is generally a great choice if you are looking for a balance of comfort, mobility, and practicality for everyday life. It features a wider seat (approx. 45 cm) and a higher weight capacity (up to 136 kg), making it particularly comfortable if you require more room or extra support.
It is also an excellent option if you frequently need to lift the wheelchair, transport it in a car trunk, or take it with you when traveling, as it is relatively lightweight (approx. 16 kg without the battery) and folds down compactly.
It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use—performing well on sidewalks, smooth paths, and slightly uneven surfaces. It typically offers a range of around 24 km per charge, which covers most daily trips.
👍 The Air Ultra is likely a good fit if you:
feel confined in smaller seats and need more space
weigh close to or over 118 kg
want a wheelchair that works well both at home and outdoors
need a model that is foldable yet sturdy
⚠️ The Air Ultra might not be ideal if you:
prioritize extreme lightness above all else
use it only in very tight indoor spaces
require maximum heavy-duty stability for very rough terrain
🧭 In short:
The Air Ultra is designed as a "mid-range" solution—offering more comfort and support than ultra-compact models, while remaining light and portable enough for daily use and travel.
When purchasing an electric wheelchair, you should pay particular attention to the following points:
Seat size and comfort: Ensure the seat width, depth, and padding are suitable so that you sit comfortably and securely.
Weight capacity: The wheelchair should safely support your body weight.
Weight and foldability: Important if you plan to transport the wheelchair frequently or stow it in a car.
Range and battery: Check the distance you can travel on a single charge and whether an additional battery is an option.
Intended use: Consider whether you will use the wheelchair primarily indoors, outdoors, or in a mix of both environments.
Turning radius and size: Crucial for navigating tight spaces such as apartments, hallways, or elevators.
Ride comfort and stability: Especially important for longer distances or uneven terrain.
Controls: The joystick should be intuitive and easy to operate.
Transport and travel: Look for airline-compliant batteries if you plan to fly.
Service and warranty: Availability of spare parts, repair services, and warranty terms.
In short: The right electric wheelchair suits your body, your daily routine, and your environment—not just the technical specifications.
1) Seat width (most important)
How to measure:
Sit on a firm, flat chair (not a sofa).
Ask someone to measure the widest part of your hips or thighs while you are sitting in a relaxed position.
Add a total of 2–3 cm (≈ 0.8–1.2″) – as a buffer for clothing and a little clearance on both sides.
This final figure is your target seat width.
Model guide:
Around 42–45 cm (≈ 16.5–17.7″)
→ You need slightly more space than a standard seat width offers but still want a compact chair.
→ The OAS Air Ultra model (internal seat width ≈ 45.69 cm) is typically the best choice here.
2) Seat depth (thigh support)
How to measure: From the backrest (buttocks) to the back of the knee – minus 2–5 cm (≈ 1–2″) to avoid pressure on the back of the knees.
Goal: The thighs should be well-supported, leaving a gap of about two to three finger-widths behind the knee.
3) Seat height / footrest position
How to measure: From the floor (or the heel, wearing your everyday shoes) to the back of the knee – plus the thickness of the seat cushion.
Check: The thighs should be roughly horizontal, the feet should rest flat on the footplates, and there should be a ground clearance of approx. 5 cm (≈ 2″) beneath the footplates during use.
4) Reality check via a home trial (if available)
Can you get in and out (transfer) safely?
Do you feel any pressure points or chafing after 20–30 minutes? Can you reach the joystick comfortably without having to lean forward?
Does the seat width still feel comfortable when wearing winter or thicker clothing?
Simple rule of thumb
If your measurements fall within the mid-range (approx. 42–45 cm), the Air Ultra model generally offers the best balance between seating comfort and a compact design.
Air Pro
- Typical range: ~15 miles (≈24 km) per charge with the 12 Ah battery.
- Extended option: Up to 50+ miles (≈80+ km) with the extended-battery setup (your stated UVP).

- Extended option: Up to 50+ miles (≈80+ km) with the extended-battery setup (your stated UVP).
- Best for short–medium daily trips, airports, travel and city errands.
Cruise One
- Battery noted: 24 V, 1×20 Ah
Estimated real range: ~10mi per charge.
**Actual range varies with rider weight, terrain/slope, average speed, stop-and-go usage, tire pressure, temperature, and accessory load. Expect lower range on hills, rough surfaces, and in cold weather.
Quick tip to maximize range
Keep tires properly inflated, avoid top speed for long periods, accelerate smoothly, and store/charge batteries at room temperature.
Air Pro (24 V × 12 Ah = 288 Wh): Generally allowed for air travel because it’s ≤ 300 Wh. You still need airline approval and must follow packing rules.
Air Ultra (24 V × 10.4Ah = 249.6 Wh): Generally allowed for air travel because it’s ≤ 300 Wh. You still need airline approval and must follow packing rules.
Cruise One (24 V × 20 Ah = 480 Wh): Above 400 Wh. In most cases this will not be accepted if the battery has to be removed or carried as a spare. Many carriers apply a 300 Wh limit for lithium-ion wheelchair batteries. If you plan to fly, choose an airline-compliant pack (≤ 300 Wh) or use Air Pro.
The typical service life of a power wheelchair is ~5 years under normal use and maintenance.
How to maximize lifespan (quick checklist):
Charge smart: Avoid deep discharges; partial, regular charging reduces stress on Li-ion cells. Store/charge at moderate temperatures.
Routine care: Keep the chair clean and dry; check bolts, brakes, joystick operation monthly; schedule an annual inspection.
Tires matter: Keep pneumatics properly inflated; replace worn solids/pneumatics promptly.
Operate within limits: Stay within rated capacity and avoid frequent curb drops or rough terrain beyond the chair’s design—this preserves motors, gearboxes, and frame. (Best practice per manufacturer manuals.)

Travel & Portability
The OAS Air Ultra is designed with air travel in mind. It comes with two removable 24 V × 10.4 Ah lithium-ion batteries, each with a capacity of approximately 249.6 Wh.
Airlines apply their own rules to electric wheelchairs and removable lithium batteries, particularly when more than one battery is involved. Please notify your airline in advance, provide the specifications of both batteries, and obtain approval before travelling. If the batteries need to be removed, their terminals must be protected against short circuits and they must be carried according to the airline’s instructions rather than placed in checked baggage.
Yes—just compare your trunk opening to the folded size below and use the quick check.
Folded sizes (L × W × H)
Air Ultra: 65.99 × 35.00 × 72.01 cm
All our electric wheelchair are tool-free, quick-folding power wheelchairs. Most users can fold them in a few seconds after a little practice. You generally don’t need to disassemble anything for transport—just fold and (optionally) remove the battery to lighten the lift.
OAS Air Ultra (16.3 kg without batteries):For many adults, lifting it alone may be manageable, especially when both removable batteries are taken out first. However, this also depends on the person’s physical strength, lifting technique, and the height and size of the vehicle’s boot opening. If lifting feels difficult or unstable, we recommend asking another person for assistance or using a suitable loading aid.
Car Transport — Boot or SUV
Fold and lock: Switch off the power, fold the OAS Air Ultra, and make sure the folding latch is fully secured.
Remove the batteries: The Air Ultra weighs 16.3 kg without batteries. Remove both batteries before lifting to reduce the weight. Place the batteries in a padded bag and protect the terminals from contact with metal objects.
Pad and secure the wheelchair: Place a blanket or non-slip mat underneath it. Add soft padding around the frame and joystick, then secure the wheelchair with straps so it cannot slide or tip over. Do not place heavy luggage on top of it.
Lift safely: Whenever possible, slide the wheelchair into the vehicle instead of lifting it from the floor in one movement. Hold the main frame—not the armrests, joystick, footrests, or other removable parts.
The folded dimensions of the OAS Air Ultra are approximately 65.99 × 35 × 72.01 cm. Measure both the vehicle’s storage space and the width and height of the boot opening before transport.
Air Travel Within Europe
Notify the airline in advance that you will be travelling with a battery-powered mobility aid. Provide the following OAS Air Ultra specifications:
- Weight without batteries: 16.3 kg
- Folded dimensions: approximately 65.99 × 35 × 72.01 cm
- Batteries: 2 removable lithium-ion batteries
- Battery specification: 24 V, 10.4 Ah each
- Energy rating: approximately 249.6 Wh per battery
European airlines may apply different rules, especially to mobility aids fitted with two removable lithium-ion batteries. Do not assume that the wheelchair or both batteries will be accepted automatically. Contact the airline before booking or travelling, provide the specifications of both batteries, and obtain written approval where possible.
Battery Handling
If the airline requires the batteries to be removed:
- Follow the airline’s instructions on how and where they must be carried
- Protect each battery against physical damage
- Cover or insulate the terminals to prevent short circuits
- Keep the batteries separate from metal objects
- Do not place removed or spare lithium-ion batteries in checked baggage
The final decision on battery acceptance, removal, cabin transport, and wheelchair handling is made by the airline.
Protect Removable Parts
Before handing over the wheelchair:
- Remove or secure the seat cushion, cup holder, bag, and other loose accessories
- Secure loose cables
- Fold or remove the footrests if instructed
- Protect the joystick with soft padding
- Make sure the wheelchair is switched off
- Confirm whether the chair should remain in drive mode or be placed in freewheel mode for handling
Attach a Handling Card
Attach a clearly visible one-page handling card to the wheelchair containing:
- Model: OAS Air Ultra
- Weight without batteries: 16.3 kg
- Folded dimensions: 65.99 × 35 × 72.01 cm
- Battery location and specifications
- Simple folding and unfolding instructions
- Instructions for switching between drive and freewheel modes
- The statement: “Do not lift by the armrests, joystick, or footrests.”
- Your name and contact details
This helps airport and airline staff handle the wheelchair correctly.
Check the Wheelchair on Arrival
Inspect the wheelchair, joystick, frame, wheels, footrests, and accessories immediately after collection. If anything is damaged, lost, or no longer functions correctly, report it to the airline or airport assistance desk before leaving the airport and ask for written confirmation of the report.
Keep it clean, dry, and cool; power off, fold, and store the battery correctly. Use this checklist for short-term (days–weeks) and long-term (30+ days) storage.
Power off and make sure freewheel levers are in “Drive” (so it won’t roll).
Fold & latch the frame; don’t lift by the armrests when moving it.
Remove the battery if you won’t use the chair for a while; keep terminals covered.
Protect the joystick with a soft cover; avoid weight on it.
Dry, ventilated place away from heaters, rain, or direct sun. Use a breathable cover (not airtight plastic).
Yes. You can carry an extra, model-compatible battery for longer days.
Around town/by car: Bring a spare pack in a padded pouch, with terminals covered, and swap when needed. Use OEM batteries only to ensure BMS compatibility and maintain safety/warranty.
By air: Extra (spare) batteries are allowed only under airline rules—see below.
Airline rules (spare batteries)
- Watt-hour limits: Airlines follow a ≤ 300 Wh per lithium-ion battery limit for mobility aids. You may carry one spare ≤ 300 Wh or two spares ≤ 160 Wh each, in carry-on only, with terminals protected. Airline approval is usually required.
- Installed vs. spare: If the battery is installed and protected by design, the chair is typically checked with the battery installed. Spare/removed batteries must never be checked—carry-on only, and protect terminals from short-circuit. Inform the airline where the battery is.
Maintenance & Care
Daily riders: Charge after each day’s use. Partial charges are fine—no need to fully drain first.
Occasional riders (a few times/week): Charge whenever you drop near ~30–40%, or at least once a week.
Long-term storage (30+ days): Store at ~40–60%, then top up every 6–8 weeks.
1. Quick checklist (every time)
Power off; ensure freewheel levers are in “Drive.”
Fold & latch the chair; avoid lifting by armrests.
Remove the battery if you won’t ride for a while; cover the terminals.
Protect the joystick with a soft cover; don’t place weight on it.
Store in a dry, ventilated, shade-cool place; use a breathable cover (not airtight plastic).
2. Battery care (most important)
Daily/weekly use: Charge after rides; OK to top up—avoid deep (0%) discharges.
Idle 1–4 weeks: Store at ≈50–80%; top up monthly.
Idle 1–6 months: Store at ≈40–60%; check/top up every 6–8 weeks.
Temperature: Aim for 50–77°F (10–25°C); avoid freezing/heat (>95°F / 40°C).
Charger: Use the original charger; don’t leave connected for months—unplug after reaching the target level.
3. Frame, tires, cushion
Wipe off moisture/dust before storing.
Pneumatic tires: keep inflated; solid tires: roll the chair occasionally to avoid flat spots.
Long storage: stand the cushion upright or relieve pressure so it doesn’t take a set.
Keep it cool, stay mostly in the 20–80% charge window, avoid deep discharges, and store around 40–60% if idle for weeks.
High-impact habits (do these first)
Charge after your ride; don’t run to 0%. Aim to finish days above 20–30%.
Avoid heat. Charge/use/store around 50–77°F (10–25°C); never leave the pack in a hot car.
Partial charges are good. It’s fine to stop at 80–90% for daily use; save 100% for trip days.
Gentle driving = longer life. Moderate speed/acceleration reduces current draw and heat.
Use the OEM charger only. It’s tuned to your BMS and voltage.
Charging routine
Daily riders: Top up after each day (4–6 hrs typical).
Occasional riders: Recharge when near 30–40% or at least weekly.
Gauge calibration (optional, monthly): Run to ~20–30%, then charge to 100% once—keeps the indicator accurate.
Storage routine (30+ days)
Store the battery at ~40–60%, cool/dry place; top up every 6–8 weeks.
Don’t leave on the charger for months; unplug after reaching target.
Remove the battery from the chair if storing long-term; cover terminals.
Usage factors that steal range (and age the pack faster)
High load: Steep hills, soft ground, heavy payloads.
Under-inflated tires: Keep pneumatics properly inflated.
Cold weather: Expect less range; warm to room temp before charging.
Power off, wipe with a damp (not wet) cloth and mild soap, keep water away from electronics, and—if needed—disinfect with 70% isopropyl alcohol or an EPA-registered product. Never hose down or submerge the chair.
Pneumatic (air-filled) tires: Check pressure weekly and before long trips; inflate to the PSI printed on the tire sidewall (don’t exceed it).
Solid / foam-filled tires: Inspect weekly for cuts, cracks, chunking, or flat spots (no pressure to check).
The motors are sealed and largely maintenance-free; the brakes are electromagnetic and should be function-tested regularly. Keep both dry, clean, and correctly adjusted (freewheel levers in Drive)

Safety & Usage
The OAS Air Ultra has a water-resistant, but not fully waterproof, design. It can handle light splashes and damp ground, but we do not recommend intentionally using it in the rain.
Water Resistance in Simple Terms
The electronics and joystick feature splash protection, such as an IPX4 rating, which means protection against light splashes from different directions.
Suitable for:
- Wet pavement after rain
- Small splashes from puddles
- Occasional light drizzle that cannot be avoided
Not suitable for:
- Riding in continuous rain
- Very wet conditions or heavy splashes
- Driving through deep puddles or standing water
- Washing the wheelchair with a hose or pressure washer
Long or repeated exposure to rain may affect the electronics, connectors, batteries, and frame over time. If the wheelchair gets wet, switch it off, wipe the seat and joystick dry, and allow it to dry in a cool, well-ventilated place before using it again.
Good news: all ouir wheelchairs share the same, simple joystick logic—power on, choose a speed level, then push the stick in the direction you want to go. Release the stick and the chair brakes automatically.
